Institutional Pay for Online Proctoring Coming Fall 2025

August 5, 2025

LSU Online and Continuing Education (OCE) is excited to share a significant enhancement for both students and instructors in our online programs. Beginning in the Fall 2025 terms, students enrolled in LSU Online programs at the A&M (Baton Rouge) campus will no longer pay out-of-pocket fees for remote proctoring.

What’s Changing?

Starting this fall, the following proctoring services will no longer require an additional proctoring fee at checkout for students in LSU Online (Baton Rouge) programs:

Instructor Responsibility: Instructional Language & Tool Setup

Instructors teaching LSU Online (Baton Rouge) courses are responsible for updating all course references to student payment for proctoring (e.g., syllabus language, exam sections) and setting up the correct proctoring service. Department selection within both Honorlock and ProctorU now determines who pays for proctoring services. It is critical that instructors select the correct department type when enabling proctoring to ensure students are charged (or not) appropriately. If you intend to use proctoring services for your cross-enrolled course, please contact Melissa Fuller-Killgore.

When launching Honorlock via the LTI in your Moodle course, you will be prompted to choose:
