Workday Preferences Block
The Workday Preferences Block has been created to replace the previous Course Preferences Block. It is located in the block drawer in the left side menu and at the bottom of the My Courses Page. The block contains the following settings depending on your role:
- Course preferences - Instructors can customize when a course is created and when students are enrolled.
- Crosslist & Split - Cross-listing and splitting of course sections are now in one setting.
- Team Teach Requests - (coming fall 2025) Team teach is still being developed for our Workday enrollment.
- Blueprint Shells -Blueprint Courses are now available for both campus and online offerings.
- Unwanted sections - Unwanted sections allows instructors to delete courses when they have no intention of using Moodle.
- Course schedule - Students can now view their course schedule for the current term and see the status of the Moodle course.

Panopto
Panopto Video Assignments has been replaced by Panopto Student Assignments. The simplified interface offers fewer buttons, giving students a more intuitive way to submit videos.
A new text editor button for Panopto will embed your Panopto content and sync sharing permissions for students. This means creators no longer need to manually adjust viewer permissions for their content found outside of their course folder when embedding content.
Edit Mode Toggle
A new “Edit mode” toggle in the top right corner simplifies the process of switching between viewing and editing modes, ensuring that users only make changes when intended.

My Courses Page Layout
Moodle's updated My Courses page features an improved design that places reminders like deadlines, grading, and forum posts within a drawer on the right margin. A number of filters have been added, such as sorting courses by last accessed or filtering to only courses in progress. Courses can also be starred or removed from view.
- Star this course: Starring a course marks it for filtering only starred courses.
- Remove from view: Removing a course from view excludes it from all of that single user’s views except for the specific "Removed from view" filter. This does not hide the course from students. There is no longer a “Hidden courses” section.

LTI External Tool Location
LTI external tools now have a dedicated page within the Course Administration menu where a full description of each tool can be found. Once an LTI external tool is selected, it will appear in the activity chooser.

New TinyMCE Editor is the Default
Users will now have TinyMCE as the default editor for a modern editing interface. The Atto editor is still available in Editor preferences in your profile.

More Gradebook Detail and Easier Editing
In the Moodle 4.5 gradebook, you will be able to search users to find students more quickly. Also, single columns have a new menu for customizing your grade report.

Side Bar Menu
There is now a collapsible menu on the right edge of each site page that contains the administration menu, blocks, and reminders.

Course Page Updates
On the course page, you will see updated icons and new quick access options for course activity settings. Also, the current section is now highlighted for clearer navigation.

Gradebook Setup Improvements
The gradebook setup area includes clear text descriptions indicating specific settings in categories and grade items, and items can be edited or moved using a new sticky footer and modal window for bulk items.
